Warm Brunch at Hartwood Grill & Bar, Bandung

I know I haven’t blogged in a while since a lot of things happened in the last 2 months. But despite everything, one good thing happened : I decided to leave the job that I-always-knew-I-never-wanted-but-the-salary-keep-me-up. You know, when you just keep doing what you don’t really like, in the end everything take its toll and turn you against the muse that keeps you up. I have been hesitating for a while until I stumbled upon one quote: “if you don’t want the job that your boss does, then you’re on the wrong line”. I never wanted the job that my boss does, plus the fact that I got a job in Bandung + bf lives in Bandung : move on. Or I’d rather say move out.

Anywaaay, let’s keep this post away from my wishy-washy sharing, and stick on what makes us happy : good interior + good food. For my first breakfast experience in Bandung, bf took me to this restaurant that he always adore : Hartwood. Upon entering, we immediately saw this quotes:

It said “If you love me let me know”, but too bad the light was very bad and I could not capture the quotes perfectly. I was so sad because I really love quotes that are put into pictures. I really should step up my photography skills (woof woof). We sat in the outside of the resto, which is actually for smoking. But it looks very good:

That guy on the table was bf, that’s where we were seated. It was very sunny and bright that day, but we really didn’t feel hot at all seating there. It was perfectly warm. For those of you who would like to come with friends and spend a long time chatting, they also have sofas:

And if, say, you can’t stand smokes and unfortunately there are a lot of people smoke there, they also have an indoor area, which is the non-smoking room. It was also colder inside :

It was brunch time and we were both starving, so we ordered these two babies:

I have sweet tooth, so I was super happy when this breakfast menu offers me waffle + ice cream vanilla, and if you could peek, there is a maple syrup behind the ice cream. I know this would tasted too sweet for bf, but for me this is good. If you are a big fan of crispy waffle, then you’re good with this one. For me, I would prefer the soft waffle like Caffe Bene’s. However, this was good and I was still happy eating it.

Boyfriend and his healthy-food-obsession-that-comes-once-in-a-while ordered what appeared to be a bunch of salad (seriously, the only salad I like is Pizza Hut’s), beef ham, an egg, and wholemeal bread. It’s literally beef benedict. Anyhow, he said it tasted good (he ate it so fast that all of it was gone by the time I remember that I want to have a taste). When he eats fast + finishes it, it usually means the food is good 😉

The strawcimon tasted sweet, I thought it was gonna be sour. And the lychee mojito tasted like any other lychee mojito. The thing about their drink is that they actually stir it for you, so you could see in the strawcimon, the lychee was already crushed, and in the mojito, the mint leaves was also crushed. Not related, but I think ‘strawcimon’ makes a good (hash)tag lol

I had a great breakfast, and we was just enjoying the place and the warm-but-not-hot sunny day when a couple come and sit beside us and actually started to bicker. The woman literally stood up and was leaving and the man called her loud “Hey, where are you going. Come on.” Like, really, the place was empty, and they just pick the table right beside us and started to bicker? We left not long after they argue about who was going to pay.
